The Blonz Guide
If you have surfed a bit you have realized that there's no shortage of nutrition and health-related materials in cyberspace. The chore, though, comes in sorting out the "science" reliable resources from the worthless cyberjunk. I work as scientist/journalist, writing on nutrition, foods, health and wellness and I am always on the lookout for good sites. Online resources have become a key part of my research. The "BLONZ GUIDE" is a compilation of my wanderings, assembled in the hope that it will help you find the quality sources you seek. Dr. Blonz
My focus is to list sites with reliable information, steering clear of those that push products of questionable scientific merit. You can branch out by using any of the GUIDE's wide variety of search engines or our language translation utility. It is all designed to find just about anything that's findable.

Coffee Science Information Center
Celebrating the drink that Bach referred to as "lovelier than a thousand kisses," the Web site of the Coffee Science Information Centre has a variety of sections relating different material on the work of the Centre and general information about this occasionally maligned beverage. The prime goal of the Coffee Science Information Centre is "to provide accurate, balanced and consistent information to all audiences across Europe who have an interest in coffee, caffeine and health." Specifically, different sections of the site deal with coffee and health, world coffee events, and a brief essay on coffee throughout history. The site also contains links to different scientific reports that refute certain commonly misconceptions about coffee, including the idea that prolonged coffee ingestion will lead to extreme dehydration. This site will be of great interest to those with a strong affinity for coffee and also for those interested in current scientific research on caffeine.

Culture, Consciousness and Drugs
The Culture, Consciousness and Drugs site is a comprehensive look at our culture, our consciousness and drugs. It is about the challenges that we face in understanding ourselves in relationship to our culture and drugs through our consciousness. It contains a comprehensive guide to drugs, including legal ramifications, the War on Drugs, consciousness and our culture.

Women's Health at the FDA (US Gov't site)
The mission of the Office of Women's Health (OWH) of the Food and Drug Administration is to serve as a champion for women's health both within and outside the agency.

Traditional Food, Health and Nutrition
What we eat -- where it comes from, how it is raised, processed, cooked -- affects our health in many ways. Traditional native diets in those few places in the world where people still mostly eat what they raise, hunt, gather, fish -- have been found to promote health and long life, for reasons only gradually coming to be understood.
